The Chimney Notice Plate is a legal requirement under UK Building Regulations and must be installed following the completion of any hearth or flue work. This includes stove installations, chimney lining, hearth installations, and twin wall flue pipe installations.
The notice plate must be filled out with essential information and permanently displayed within the building, ideally located near the chimney or within a meter cupboard. It is crucial to complete all details using an indelible marker to ensure compliance with Document J of the Building Regulations. This notice serves as an important reference for future maintenance and inspections, ensuring the safety and integrity of your chimney system.
